Ambrogio 4.0 Basic (Light, Medium, and Premium) Review
The very well-established robot mower makes Ambrogio has recently released it Next like of Mowers. the Ambrogio 4.0 Basic, Lite, Medium, and Premium will be the focus of this review.
The names are a bit of a mouthful but it’s not that hard to cover and it’s all so you can get exactly the mower that you are after.
Manufactures these days are going with more options in the robotic mower market as they are understanding that not everyone has that has a big lawn wants to pay top dollar for a mower with all the bells and whistles.
Sometimes people just want a simple mower that can handle a large lawn, and sometimes people want all the features but only have a small lawn. the latest range of mowers reflects this. with more models available to cover all these needs.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Good Build Quality
- Strong Blades for Cutting Heavier Grass
- Self Cleaning
- Big Rubber Wheels for Good Grip
Cons
- Expensive
- Could have Wi-fi rather than just Bluetooth
Ambrogio 4.0 Basic Models
All these models have the same features and capabilities. The only difference is the battery capacity and therefore the size of the lawn that it can comfortably cut. It’s good of the manufacturer to give us these variable numbers as they allow customers to get exactly the mower that they are after. this model is the entry-level robotic mower and even though it doesn’t come with some of the features of the other models from Ambrogio it is definitely not lacking in features.
4.0 Basic Light
The light model is the one with the smallest battery. For a smaller lawn, you save a bit on price, but you still get a mower capable of cutting 800 square meters or 0.2 acres of lawn.
4.0 Basic Medium
This model adds a 50% cutting capacity to the Light model with its battery that is exactly double the size of its brother. going from a 2.9Ah to a 5.8Ah battery. We would think that this should also double the cutting capacity, but we are going with Ambrogio on this one.
4.0 Basic Premium
Finally, you have the Premium model is the largest of the bunch. this one comes with the biggest battery coming in at 8.7Ah and a cutting capacity of 1800 square meters. Also, with an additional 0.6kg of weight to account for that bigger battery.
Features
The Next 4.0 basic comes with a number of very useful features that set it apart from other mowers on the market.
Bluetooth connectivity and Smart Assistant integration
These latest models of mowers from Ambrogio have Bluetooth connectivity allowing control from your smartphone. Along with this they also have the capability to be controlled by your smart assistant. this will only be while your phone is connected via Bluetooth to give the mower connectivity of course. This is still a big step in the right direction.
Optional AMICO Safety Funcion
The AMICO safety function upgrades the mowers sensors to allow it to sense nearby movement. This means that if your pet or your kids get too close to the mower then the mower will stop until they move away.
This takes safety to the next level compared to other models on the internet. Most other models require physical contact with an obstacle before they will actually stop.
Build Quality
The quality of the plastics and even just the look of the Ambrogio make you think that it’s a very capable robot and that it will do its job well. Compared to other models it just looks like it’s going to be very capable and do the job well.
One argument that we see again and again about the Husqvarna mowers is that they get scratched very easily with the gloss cover that they have on them, and even though this does not affect their cutting ability it’s much nicer when the cover is more fit for purpose. As it is on these models.
