Bosch Indego 350 Review
Bosch Indego 350 is a great little robot mower for someone with a little yard. Or one with separate areas that they want to cover with a small robot mower. Its main downfall is the area that it can cover. It only has a small battery and with only 350 square meters of coverage, this is the kind of robot mower you would want to get for a townhouse.
Features
- Multi-zone operation
The multi-zone of this mower is a bit different from the others because it can have multiple charging stations and the mower can be moved to completely different lawn areas that are not connected to each other. This is great if you have a house with a front and back lawn that are not connected because you can use the same mower to cover them both. You just need to move the mower from one to the other. - Lithium-Ion Battery
It is nice to see a decent battery in this type of mower. The battery is not a large one coming in at just 2 Ah, but lithium-ion batteries do have good life expectancy. With a typical life of 1000 cycles, it should last for a year or two depending on the amount you use it. - Self Scheduling System
This is a cool feature for a little mower like this. when you set up the mower and l=it learns the size of the lawn that you have it will set up its own schedule. This means once you get it set up you are done. Just sit back and watch the little guy go. - Software updates
Even though this mower does not have any form of connectivity this little dog can learn new tricks. there is a USB port on the back of the robot mower that will allow you to connect a standard USB stick so that it can get software updates. this is a handy feature because manufacturers do release new software and fixes for problems with appliances like this to improve their performance. There is also the possibility of new features being added. Who doesn’t like a dog that can learn new tricks?
Downsides
- Lawn Size
This is always a problem with a unit like this. They do well as long as the lawn is small enough for it to cope with but if you move to a place with a bigger lawn then it will struggle or simply not be able to do it. - No Connectivity
We think that in this day and age adding Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to a robot like this to allow remote management should be standard but manufacturers still bring them out without it. The major downside to this is that all programming has to be done on the robot itself and there is no smart home integration. Finally, to get any new software updates you will need to do it manually via USB, and most people will never think to or bother doing that.
